How to begin a relationship with Jesus Christ

God Loves You

1. God loves us so much that he desires to have a relationship with us. Through a relationship with Christ you will experience peace, purpose, and as a result have eternal life. This is the purpose of why you are on earth, so you may enjoy a relationship with God, the creator. From the Bible this verse gives a clear explanation of how much God loves us. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life."

We were created especially to have a close relationship with him but something messed that relationship up.

2. God loves us even though we are sinful. Standing between us and our relationship with God is sin (which is anything that separates us from God). God by his very nature is sinless and holy. Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." This verse relates the condition that all of us are in. Even one sin in our life makes us a sinner.

So what can we do about this sin problem? Is there an answer?

3. God loves us so much that he has provided an answer to our sin problem. The answer to this sin problem lies in the Son of God - Jesus - who lived a perfect life. Because Jesus lived a sin free life and is the very Son of God makes him the perfect sacrifice to take our sin away. Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins and purchase a place in heaven for us which he offers as a free gift. Roman 5:8 - "God demonstrated his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
